About

GUTMOM is a European JPI Consortium aimed at research on interactions between mother and child, both during pregnancy and in early life. We are particularly interested in (1) potential contribution of the maternal gut microbiome to development of cognition in infants, in (2) maternal and infant immunological and physiological parameters that are predictive for such gut-brain interactions and responses, and on (3) the impact of natural dietary components on this gut-brain axis that can serve as future therapeutic interventions.

GUTMOM is part of the Interrelation of the Intestinal Microbiome, Diet and Health (INTIMIC) joint transnational research call of the Joint Programming Initiative (JPI), Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life (HDHL) program. For details about the partners involved in this research please visit our Partners page. For more information about our team members we refer to our Team page.
